With just about 4 months to go until MAVO2023 on November 10-12, I thought it was about time I shared some exciting info with you guys about this event! Our
Keynote Speaker this year is none other than the incomparable Sirena Irwin!
Sirena founded her company “Oh, Zeus” after many years of writing, producing,
casting, directing and acting in content on various platforms.
Her career in animation casting and directing began in 2017 after an 18 year
career as an actor in animation and a 2 year mind-melding mentorship from
legendary animation director, Andrea Romano. She was originally given
opportunities at Dreamworks and Titmouse/Amazon and has since added Cartoon
Network, Warner Brothers and Nickelodeon to the mix. Sirena is consistently
casting, voice-directing and acting for multiple animated series.
She was nominated for an Emmy® for Voice Directing in 2021.

I’ve said this before, but what I want to highlight here is that when I choose a
Keynote speaker for each MAVO event, there is a lot of research and thought that
goes into it! To me, the Keynote is where the inspiration for the rest of the event
comes from! I wanted to have someone in this spot who has experience with both
the acting and the casting side of the industry. I was looking for someone who can
offer valuable insights to our https://www.valkellyvoiceover.com attendees and teach them skills that they can apply
to their careers right away to help them book even more work. When I saw that
Sirena meets all of those requirements AND has trained with Andrea Romano as
her mentor – it was a no brainer! I had to get her to agree!! I had the opportunity
to meet and take a class with Andrea Romano before she retired when she was
the Keynote at VO Atlanta. She’s an amazing, powerhouse director and having the
chance to work with her was incredibly inspiring. Knowing that Sirena has been
mentored by her, made me want to meet her even more. So, now, here we are a
few months away from MAVO2023, and I’m excited to have the chance to chat
with Sirena beforehand, so you guys can get to know her a little bit before the
